SILVER SPURS 4-H GROUP
Lawton-Bronson
Our December meeting consisted of
Having Fun! We had our Christmas
Party and everyone brought wonderful
treats and drinks!
We also later visited our three
adopted nursing home residents in
Sioux City bringing them gifts & hav-
ing a Christmas party.
At our January meeting we were to
bring our "birdhouses buildings" after
given the "CHALLENGE" in Decem-
ber by Justin Zant. We were supl~ed
with a stack of boards and told to build
a birdhouse anyway possible by using
only tools on hand at home. By the next
meeting the birdhouses were to be
decorated with whatever was on hand,
nothing could be bought.
Our February meeting brought some
really surprising results on the bird-
houses. Some items used were: Pop-
sicle sticks, bark, hay, rocks, baling
twine, old paint, pasta, pine cones &
needles. The parents voted on the
houses (but not for their own 4-Her).
Emily Hegger and Justin Zant tied for
second place and Zane Norby won first.
We also had Dare Deputy Benson talk
to us about the dangers of drugs and
what to do if a stranger approached us
with them. He was very entertaining
and we thank him for taking time to
talk with us.
